Kenichi Nakamura Awarded by Japanese Government

The president of Nakamura-Tome, Kenichi Nakamura, has been honoured by the Japanese government. He was recently awarded  the “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” from the Emperor of Japan. The award was given for a variety reasons, with his distinguished services and achievements in the Japanese machine tool industry highlighted in particular.

The Order of the Rising Sun is a Japanese order, and was first created in 1875 by Emperor Meiji of Japan. This award is the first national decoration awarded by the Japanese government to those who have made distinguished achievements in international relations, promotion of Japanese culture, advances in their field or development in welfare or preservation of the environment. It is the third highest order granted by the Japanese government.

Nakamura received this honour in recognition of his achievements in four distinct areas; as Chairman of JMTBA, contributions to Nakamura-Tome’s growth, contributions as a public official, and for his leadership in education and volunteering.
