Exciting news …For the first time since July this year, the Ai Group’s Australian Performance of Manufacturing Index jumped to 56.3 in October of 2020 from 46.7 in the previous month. Index improvements have been linked to significant economic improvements within NSW and Victoria. Positive growth was seen in all the key activity markers such as, production, employment, sales and exports.
NZ figures suggest a decline for a single month but these figures do not represent a trend.
I’m delighted to announce the arrival of Matthew Malatt as the Sheet Metal Southern Region Business leader. Matt will be leading our i4.0 program, Application Specialist team and the sales function for Sheet Metal in the Southern Region. Matt’s role is an example of our increasing investments in the Sheet Metal division which now has 25 staff including 17 Service Technicians. These 25 staff are totally dedicated to Sheet Metal solutions. These numbers do not include any of the Service Management, Spare Parts or Admin Staff. Matt brings 25 years of engineering/manufacturing experience and business leadership at director level. He has worked in small and large companies in Australia, France, and the UK and has extensive client facing experience. We were most impressed by his passion for helping clients achieve success in their own business.
Additionally, I’m very pleased to announce the arrival of Mark Clouting into the role of Business Operations Lead. Mark will lead our operational excellence programs. He will focus heavily on continuous improvements in spare parts (price/availability), service excellence and client satisfaction/client engagement. Mark has a very impressive background in Quality Management/Lean/Six Sigma and brings over 20 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and similar business operations roles locally and internationally.
We are also very pleased to welcome Ernest Palm to NZ to supplement our service team in NZ. Ernest brings 10+ years of specialist skills in laser technology and TRUMPF Sheet Metal systems.
Christmas is now officially within sight and I wish you all (regardless of faith) a restful, relaxing and safe festive season. We will officially close out 2020 at midday on the 22nd of December and reopen on 11 January 2021. However, as always we will continue to support you during this time with key staff / technicians available across multiple divisions.
Finally, we are happy to advise that if you’d like us to organise a webinar to talk through the numerous options on how to access government funding, please let us know (via firstname.lastname@example.org).
I hope to speak with as many of you as possible over the coming months and I hope to be visiting you before too long.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach me directly if you feel we can help in any way.
