What an exhibition! Austech 2015 proved to be a success with thousands of people attending the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the four-day event.

This year we exhibited a range of machinery and solutions that help businesses innovate, automate and streamline processes – allowing you to reclaim your Sundays. We even had Putt Putt which entertained those who visited.

Our Headland stand covered all of our machinery divisions.

The Maxiem 1530 Waterjet always entices a large crowd. We demonstrated the precise and accurate Maxiem, cutting a multitude of different shapes out of sheet metal, allowing visitors to see its versatility and flexibility. The Maxiem 1530 demonstrated its ease of use, speed and efficiency.

Matt Weaver Headland’s Waterjet technical Support Manager said Austech is always a great opportunity to catch up with existing customers as well as make some new relationships.

“We were incredibly busy,” Matt says.

“Austech is always the perfect platform to meet up with existing customers, to discuss new technology and methods,

“It was also a great environment to build new relationships with people who had an interest in investing in a waterjet for their business,

“Being one of only two waterjets at the show, it was great to see some much interest in the Maxiem 1530,

“People were extremely impressed with the robust nature of the machine as well as the simplicity of the software,” he says.

The TRUMPF TruBend 7036 was also a feature on the Headland stand and since TRUMPF are known for their world class technology, what better platform to exhibit the world’s best than at Austech. The TruBend 7036 is an ergonomic machine with high speed bending that bends sheet metal with precision. Michael Lynn our Software and Application Engineer demonstrated the bending accuracy of the TruBend, impressing onlookers.

Warrick Theron, Sales Manager for Sheet Metal at Headland says the 7036 always draws attention at any show.

“The 7036 is one of those machines that will always draw a crowd,” he says.

“Its precision and accuracy is second to none, making it a popular investment for most people,

“TRUMPF is known for its exceptional quality and the 7036 is no different,” Warrick says.

Our metal fabrication section of the Headland stand showcased the KASTOwin Bandsaw and the Kaltenbach KKS 400 E. Both KASTO and Kaltenbach are leaders in sawing. The KASTOwin A 3.3 offers a number of benefits for fabricators who are looking for precise, accurate and efficient technology. It is quick and easy to program and can be customised for specific applications. The Kaltenbach KKS 400 E is the perfect tool for high cutting capacity. This efficient machine increases productivity and is extremely versatile in its application.

Greg Bosward, Headland’s Metal Fabrication Product Manager says, this years Austech exhibition was the perfect atmosphere for business owners to see the technology on offer.

“Austech is always a great opportunity for business managers to see innovative technology that they can implement into their business,” Greg says.

“It certainly was quite impressive to see numerous people interested in Headland’s sawing machinery and how it could benefit their business,

“People were certainly impressed with the features of both the KASTOwin bandsaw and the Kaltenbach circular saw, and our live demonstrations certainly showcased their precision and efficiency,” he says.

Alan Barratt with Hanel Storage

Hanel always makes a great impression – a solution that increases floor space and streamlines inventory management. Exhibition attendees were able to see why Hanel vertical storage is the perfect solution for wholesale distributors, and gave the machine a test-run themselves. Alan was on the stand to demonstrate and when teamed with Klugo’s cloud-based software, he could showcase how your business will increase efficiency through automation.

On the Thursday night we hosted a drinks night to celebrate the end of Austech week with our customers. We enjoyed a beer…or two and some BBQ at The Boatbuilders Yard at South Wharf over some more games of Putt Putt.
