Introducing our new division for our machinery line up, Advanced Manufacturing.
Advanced Manufacturing Division
Headland is proud to announce our new division, Advanced Manufacturing, which consists of Laser Metal Fusion (LMF) and Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) machine technology. The current machine line up from TRUMPF includes; TruPrint 1000, TruPrint 3000, TruLaser cell 3000, TruLaser cell 7000 and the TruLaser Weld 5000.
Headland currently has the TruPrint 1000 on display in our Melbourne Showroom. To book a demo, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1300 592 061 or view during our Oktoberfest celebrations.
What is Advanced Manufacturing Technology?
From a 3D model, additive manufacturing components are manufactured from powder and laser light. Each layer of the component is produced layer by layer.
Without the need for tooling, additive manufacturing enables the creation of geometrically complex (any shape can be created) objects which are unable to be produced using traditional machining methods.
Within this process the laser light is the key component as it melts the powder and then solidifies.
The technology range from TRUMPF involves Laser Metal Fusion (LMF) and Laser Metal Deposition (LMD).
Laser Metal Fusion (LMF)
Using this method, new components are created by building up layers of powder to produce a whole part. This method is ideal for prototypes or highly complex small pieces in low quantities.
Laser Metal Deposition (LMD)
This method involves the laser generating a weld pool on the surface of the component. A metal filler material powder is then continuously added and melted on this pool. This creates beads that are welded to one another, which then form structures on existing base bodies or entire components. This method is ideal for coating and repair work.
