STUDER Wins the PRODEX Award 2014

STUDER have won the PRODEX Award for the second time.

The Swiss company took out the prestigious Swiss technology innovation award for their new WireDress® dressing technology.

STUDER created an in-process dressing system for wire-cut electro-discharge machining of metal-bonded grinding wheels. This new technology is said to increase accuracy and will allow cylindrical grinding to be carried out more quickly.

The device is a small wire erosion machine that can increase productivity by up to 30% in individual cases, in comparison to grinding with resin or ceramic bonds.

Dr. Gereon Heinemann, Managing Director of Fritz Studer AG attended the presentation and said it was an honour to be the recipient of a prestigious award.

“We are delighted with this award”, says Dr. Gereon Heinemann.

“It confirms that a long-standing commitment to basic research can lead to a product or technology with remarkable user benefits and a ‘wow factor.’”

The last time STUDER was presented with the PRODEX Award was back in 2012, when they won for their STUDER Technology Software.

With over one hundred years experience, STUDER are world leaders in cylindrical grinding technology and are known for their precision, accuracy and durability.

Headland’s new partnership with the Swiss company is sure to provide Australian businesses with the chance to work with precision machining.
